“My Father the Healer” tells the story of a son of a Chinese Qigong Master who travels back to China to learn about the challenging story of his father’s childhood as a gifted healer growing up in the traumatic and impoverished conditions of 1970’s communist Maoist China.
It’s a beautiful film about father son relationships, about generational healing, about healing from childhood trauma, and about the power of Qi healing. Imbued into the story is so much great wisdom we can learn from main character Master Li’s courage to share his traumatic story with his son, and from the Eastern medicine and Daoist principles that have been part of China’s medicine for thousands of years.
